U.S. officials announced yesterday that the government will begin allowing passengers to carry liquids and gels onto airliners, provided they are purchased from secure airline stores. Small toiletries brought from home will also be allowed on flights. Officials said that a total ban on such products, instituted after a plot to bomb jets flying into the U.S. was foiled this summer, was no longer needed. (AP)
